To answer your question Kristen, YES, I am a closet Mannequin fan.  And I LOVED the hit song, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now“.  In fact, I wanted to play this song at my wedding recessional, but my hubbie vetoed, and as fitting as I think the song was, “I’m A Believer” by  Smash Mouth worked out just fine.

Leigh just recently submitted the best tip that I have seen in a long time to Tip Junkie (one of my favorite bloggers that I follow) regarding baby powder and it’s other benefits.  Apparantley, just a sprinkle of baby powder loosens the sand from the hands.  Who knew??!!  Now if I can just train them to sprinkle before they wipe their eyes, they’ll be no more emergency trips back to the hotel room!!

Thanks Leigh for this great tip and if my husband and I ever decide to brave the beach with the little ones, the baby powder will definitely be in the bag!!!!

As I was playing with my kids crayons tonight, I just couldn’t stop smelling ‘em up.

Here are a few other ’smells’ that I sometimes can’t get enough of:

- a horse

- puppy’s breath

- a wet dog

-baby’s breath

-a clean smelling man (good cologne a plus)

-orange blossoms

-pine sol (don’t say a word SD - I know what you’re gonna say)

-coffee

-new car smell

-fresh cut grass

Are there any smells that take your breath away?

Excuse after excuse. Day after day. When am I going to hit my stride and do exercise on a regular basis? When am I going to find a time that works for me?

I really have no excuses. I could workout during naptime. I could get up 30 minutes earlier in the morning. Okay that would suck. But it’s an option. I could even workout when my hubbie gets home as he is this good to me. He’s even willing to go walk with me.

Still.

Nothing.

No desire.

I want to. I need to.

I just wonder, what is going to be the boot that kicks my a$$ in gear?

Today I read a few quotes from workoutmommy. (Yes, thank you Kristen, I learned about workoutmommy via your blog.) These were actual quotes from Gabrielle Reece in an interview with workoutmommy.com.

“If you have enough time to watch tv or get your nails done, then there is time to workout.”

“We are of no use to anyone else if we are not healthy and strong.”

There you have it. That’s my inspiration. For today anyway.

Do any of you out there struggle with exercise? Have any of you worked through the struggle with exercise and if so, how did you break through?

Please share your thoughts. I’d LOVE some advice. Please, I encourage you to become my boot.

Two seconds later I smile, point and  confidently say, “why jelly of course!”  I continued, “jam has real fruit in it which makes it more difficult to spread”.   They smile, grab a big jar of grape jelly, “thanks alot maam”, and take off.

Looking puzzled after they left, I grabbed a jar of strawberry jelly and secretly put it in my cart so that I could double check myself later on.  The next day I couldn’t wait to make myself a pb & jelly sandwich.  I hurriedly spread a thin layer of pb.  I open the jar of jelly and stuck the knife in.  I pulled out the knife and some big BLOB of ‘jello like’ substance comes rolling out of the jar and kathunks on my bread.  ”What the heck?”  ”What is this stuff??”  I took my knife and tried to spread some more.  It rolled over to the other side, then the other and the other.  I continued on until I just gave up.  Might I add that for a person who only likes a thin spread of jam, this was an impossible task with jelly.  I ended up with little mounds of jello all over my sandwich.  Yuk.  Then I immediately thought, “oh my gosh, I told those poor boys the wrong thing!” <sigh>  It was as if I failed a test.  

Here I am a mom in my 30’s.  How come I didn’t know the difference between jam or jelly, or rather, which was the more spreadable of the two.

It’s been a few years since I steered two fine young boys in the wrong direction and I’ve made it my mission to figure out which is the better spread.  It’s taken quite a while since I only spread a thin layer of jam the few times a year that I eat a pb&j, thus it takes about a year for our family to go through a jar of jam. (My husband and son eat pb & honey.  Go figure.)

Today I finally got it right.  The perfect taste and texture.  No humps. No lumpy fruit. It’s spreadable.  It’s delectable. It’s Smucker’s Simply Fruit, Seedless Strawberry Spreadable Fruit.  It’s DE-LI-CIOUS!

The next time I’m asked the question, jam or jelly, I can 100% say without a doubt, “why Spreadable Fruit by Smuckers of course. Neither jam nor jelly!”
